About the role:

Tee’s Corner Ltd are looking for a marketing and communications intern who can participate in various stages of print and online marketing campaigns. The role is a part-time unpaid internship role and will lead to the intern gaining broad experience in various aspects of marketing.

Requirements:

Tee’s Corner are looking for someone with a passion for marketing and social media. This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of Web, social media and digital apps. WordPress experience is a bonus and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this role.

The successful candidate will be required to attend report and planning meetings (once per week) with the Event Manager at Berol House, 25 Ashley Road, Tottenham Hale, N17 9LJ.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General Responsibilities
    • Assist with the production, distribution or delivery of marketing materials including print and digital newsletters
    • Work with the Event Manager to deliver processes and guidelines for all marketing, communication and branding
    • Update the brand website when needed

Events

  • Work alongside the London African Food Week team to support with promotion for events
    • Help develop and track annual London African Food Week events
    •  Support Fundraising at events with photography, social media and promotion
  • Digital Marketing
    • Assist in planning and developing marketing/content calendar
    • Write keyword-rich copy for variety of digital marketing tools to maximise SEO
    • Assist with the production, distribution or delivery of marketing materials including print and digital newsletters
    • Distribution list building, acquisition, and management
    • Frequently monitor analytics to measure and improve the brand’s digital marketing activities
  • Social Media
    • Assist with social media calendar, brainstorm ideas for new and innovative campaigns
    • Plan, create and edit high quality content to maintain an active social media presence across a range of different social media platforms in line with current trends
    • Monitor social media and website analytics on a weekly/monthly basis, provide reports and make recommendations to increase engagement

What experience, skills or attributes do you need to do this role?

  • Knowledge of MS Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Willing to commit to a minimum of 2 days a week for 6 months
  • Willing to travel extensively within London
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills 
  • Excellent listener 
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and independently 
  • Is responsible and self motivated 
  • Possess a positive attitude and enjoys helping others 
  • Flexible working hours

  • Familiarity with social networking sites desired, but we will also be trained

What You Will Learn:

  • How to create a long-term social media plan and marketing calendar.
  • Relationship building with our online community by maintaining Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other media accounts.
  • How to track social media analytics using Hootsuite and other software, and report results and new ideas to our marketing team.
  • Create compelling content that will be shared by influencers.
  • Creative feedback and viral loops between our Facebook Page, twitter, and blog accounts.
  • Building and presenting social media strategy.  
  • Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects.
